SS or S3?

SS or S3? Pick the right guide

OpenHaldex SS is the current version powered by SignalScope. Start with our build guide and use openhaldex.dev for the official wiring instructions and installer.

OpenHaldex-S3 is the older, separate version with public source under the MIT License. Its GitHub source, legacy downloads and developer archive remain available.

Moving an S3 board to SS? Save any maps and profiles you want to keep, then use the USB installation steps. Recheck the wiring: SS puts the Haldex side on CAN A and the car side on CAN B.

Free to use, with separate licenses

The SS application is proprietary. You can run an official unmodified compiled release for free on your own hardware for personal, non-commercial experimental or off-road use, under the SS software terms.

The reusable SignalScope framework has its own MIT License. That license does not cover the whole SS application. Older S3 releases keep the MIT permissions they were released with.

For what changed in SS v1.1, read the official release notes. Return to the SS starting point for the everyday guides.
